brooks461 > Our room was that little building to the right. It was just perfect for our overnight visit. Warm brown eggs (from the chickens next door?) waited for our breakfast in our little kitchen.

brooks461 > We borrowed a pair of bikes for a ride among the many wineries. We had lunch at one, then tasted wine at a few others. But none was as good as the excellent Wairau Valley Sauvignon Blanc that we bought at the supermarket. (It had been recommended by our host in Kaikoura.)

brooks461 > That's our water bottle at St. Clair Winery. Water always came that way at restaurants in New Zealand -- no plastic bottles on the table.

brooks461 > Grape harvest will be in March. These grapes are almost ready.

brooks461 > Our host at St. Leonards uses his "new" 1933 Chrysler Roadster (right hand drive) to pick up guests at the airport.

brooks461 > Dry hot weather is supposed to be good for grapes. Perfect here for me, too.
